Whats the ancient weapon in arid seas for?
I was out explorin the arid seas last week or so when i came across this little town full of those ancient armor things. In this town i found a thing called the ancient weapon or sumthin like that. It looked like the box from one of the necro quests by the sanitarium except it had this big reddish/gold light beem comin out the top taller than my monk. This little town is in the north west part of the arid sea map and the box was on the south side of the road thru this town in between sum buildings. Last night or the night before i went to do the atribute quest for my elementalist and there was this ghost right before u cross over the broken statue to the snake guy talkin about ancient weapons layin low his town and there warriors. so i went and retrieved the box and took it to him but nothin happened. Does any1 know the use of this box or this ghost or is it sum unfinished quest that the devs havnt finished or did i just miss sumthin. i havnt seen any1 esle talkin about a quest there or anything before so did i miss sumthin or is this just nothin thanx to whoever has the answer

There's a quest in the southwestern desert town called "Hero's Audience" that involves getting the sword and returning it. I believe the quest was called "The Misplaced Sword."

Nah, the misplaced sword is in the Prophets Path area and actually loooks like a sword in your inventory. The thing in the arid sea is something you have to carry around with the "Drop Item" button and it looks like this

Haven't got a clue what it's for though. I thought it might have something to do with the ghost near the statue you cross for Forgotten Wisdom since he talks about weapons used to bring about devestation in the area but it doesn't seem to do anything.

I have an idea. This item is a part of a quest that was left out from the final product though the "quest item" is left somehow in the game.
When you enter the Arid Sea, you can see a giant statue of a warrior in the distance. Yes, this is the statue that you can use as a bridge to the "15 attribute points-quest NPC".
Wait, when you entered the zone, the statue was standing in the distance...and when you arrived there, it was in ruins, forming a bridge.
What happened? OK, near the "bridge", there is an NPC who speaks of a city (now in ruins and full with Enchanted warriors) that was the home of great heroes who killed each others and destroyed the city with the help of 'ancient weapons' of great power that could bring down walls...
My guess is that the not-implemented quest was about to bring the Ancient Weapon to this NPC (statue still standing) and destroy the statue with it (to form the bridge).
Hm?

Huh, didn't know about the Ancient Weapon. But I think it would have been too hard for them to implement knocking down a statue to form a bridge, especially since the game doesn't have much in the way of physics.

That sounds very reasonable.
The knocking down of the statue shouldn't pose much of a problem, considering that you can create bridges in the jungle.

I always thought the standing statue was a mirage.
